This week, Unrivaled announced a historic moment for Philadelphia, as the city is set to host the league’s inaugural tour stop at the Xfinity Mobile Arena, featuring four clubs.
The 3-on-3 women’s basketball league will play back-to-back games in Unrivaled’s standard format on January 30, 2026, marking the first women’s professional basketball games in the city since 1998.”
Notably, the journey to bring Unrivaled to Philadelphia was not a solo effort. A group of investors, including the renowned comedian, Wanda Sykes and her organization, The Philly Sisters, played a pivotal role in this significant move.
“On behalf of The Philly Sisters, we are thrilled to help bring women’s professional basketball to the city we love and call home,” Sykes said. “Advancing women’s pro sports in Philly has been a goal we’ve passionately pursued for years, and this initiative represents the perfect alignment of purpose and passion. Unrivaled, this groundbreaking league is set to elevate the women’s basketball ecosystem as a whole, and we are honored that Philly has been chosen as its first-ever tour stop.”
Unrivaled president Alex Bazzell is brimming with excitement about the prospect of taking the league on the road, especially to a city as sports-loving as Philadelphia.
“The energy and dedication of everyone who helped bring this tour stop to life, combined with the passion of Philadelphia’s sports fans, made the city the perfect stage for Unrivaled,” said Bazzell. “We’re incredibly grateful for the support from Mayor Parker, The Philly Sisters, Xfinity, Xfinity Mobile Arena, and the community as a whole, and we look forward to playing in front of the city’s eager women’s basketball fans at a famed arena known for its electric fan experience.”
Unrivaled’s second season, which will feature some women’s basketball top players, including Napheesa Collier and Kelsey Plum, will tip off January 5, 2026, and will take place in Miami for all games outside of the tour stop.
