Eagles’ Sirianni says Brown wants to be in Philly

On Sunday, the Philadelphia Eagles moved to 4-0 after defeating the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on the road 31-25.

It was a tale of two halves. In the first half, the Eagles moved the ball up and down the field, taking a 24-6 lead into the break. In that first half, Hurts was 15/16 for 130 yards and two touchdowns.

However, the second half was a much different story for Philly’s offense. Hurts completed zero passes(0/8), and the offense stalled, which was frustrating to watch.

One reason for the team’s struggles is their inability to get star WR A.J. Brown involved. The 28-year-old, who caught six passes for 102 yards and two touchdowns against the Rams last week, was quiet against Tampa.

Brown, who signed a three-year, $96 million contract extension with the Eagles in 2024, finished with only two catches for seven yards. This season, the three-time Pro Bowler has 14 catches for 151 yards and a touchdown.

After the game, Brown wrote an interesting post on X:

“If you’re not welcomed, not listened to, quietly withdraw. Don’t make a scene. Shrug your shoulders and be on your way.”

Despite the social media post, Eagles coach Nick Sirianni made it clear that Brown is happy to be in Philadelphia.

“Yeah. Obviously, A.J. is very important to this football team,” Sirianni said on Monday, I know he wants to contribute. I know he wants to contribute and do the things that he’s capable of doing. But yeah, he wants to contribute to these wins, and he’s had a couple games where he hasn’t been able to, and for different reasons of why we haven’t in these games. But I question nothing about his desire to play great football, his desire to be a good teammate, his desire to be here.”

Look, the Eagles’ offense is at its best when Brown is getting his targets. They must find a way to get the ball in his hands, and as the season progresses, that will happen. He’s too good not to be featured by Philadelphia.
