As they prepare for the upcoming NBA season, the Memphis Grizzlies, despite the initial setbacks, are filled with optimism and determination to make the most of the opportunities that lie ahead.
On Friday, Memphis announced the following medical updates:
All-Star forward Jaren Jackson Jr., who successfully underwent a procedure to repair a turf toe injury in his right foot on July 2, has been given the green light to start ramping up his basketball activities. His return to play is anticipated in 4-6 weeks.
Center Zach Edey, who underwent surgery to address laxity in his left ankle on June 7, has been cleared to begin ramping up basketball activities. He is expected to return to play in 6-9 weeks.
Forward Brandon Clarke has fully healed from a high-grade right PCL sprain that was sustained on March 19. However, in connection with recent offseason training, he has experienced right knee synovitis, which will require an arthroscopic procedure to address. His return-to-play timeline will be announced following the procedure, but a full recovery is expected.
In addition, forward Cedric Coward is expected to be a full participant in training camp following the completion of his rehabilitation of a left shoulder injury that was sustained in November 2024 while at Washington State.
Last season, the Grizzlies finished 48-34 and lost to the eventual world champion Oklahoma City Thunder in the first round of the playoffs.
