After missing the playoffs last season, the Philadelphia 76ers are eager to get things right as they begin the 2025-26 NBA season on Wednesday, Oct. 22, when they go on the road to battle the Boston Celtics, the league announced on Thursday.
The 76ers’ home opener will be against the Charlotte Hornets on Saturday, Oct. 25.
Schedule Notes:
Philadelphia is slated to appear on national television 14 times this season across NBC/Peacock (five times), Prime Video (four times), ESPN/ESPN App (twice), Peacock (twice), and ABC/ESPN App (once).
Eleven of the 76ers’ 17 games in January will take place at Xfinity Mobile Arena, marking the team’s most home games in a single month throughout the campaign. Included in that collection of home contests is a season-long six-game homestand from Jan. 14-24, featuring back-to-back matchups against Cleveland – last season’s No. 1 seed in the East (Jan. 14, Jan. 16), a meeting with Indiana – the defending Eastern Conference Champions (Jan. 19), and notable showdowns against Phoenix (Jan. 20), Houston (Jan. 22), and New York (Jan. 24).
NBA CUP 2025:
The 2025-26 season will once again include the NBA’s annual in-season competition. Group Play, which represents the first of two stages of the tournament, will take place on Tuesdays and Fridays from Oct. 31 – Nov. 28. Eight NBA teams will once again advance to the Knockout Rounds, which will be single elimination throughout the Quarterfinals, Semifinals, and Championship. The Semifinals and Championship will take place in Las Vegas on Saturday, Dec. 13 and Tuesday, Dec. 16, respectively.
