The New York Giants will begin the 2025 regular season on the road against their division rival, the Washington Commanders, the NFL announced Thursday.
In Week 2, the team will stay on the road and face the Dallas Cowboys, another division rival.
The team’s home opener will be in primetime on Sunday night, in Week 3, against the Chiefs. This is the first of three primetime games for New York.
The Giants will begin the preseason on the road against the Buffalo Bills, where head coach Brian Daboll was an offensive coordinator for four seasons.
Scheduling notes:
The Giants will then go on their bye in Week 14, a significant point to note as it is the latest possible slot in the NFL.
-The Giants play 10 regular-season games against teams that made the postseason in 2024—the Eagles twice, Commanders twice, Packers, Vikings, Chiefs, Chargers, Broncos, and Lions—which is tied for third-most in the league. The Eagles and Lions have the most, with 11 apiece.
-The Giants’ 2025 opponents went 166-123 in 2024, good for a .574 winning percentage, the highest in the NFL.
-New York plays the world-champion Eagles in Weeks 6 and 8.
-The Giants’ 2025 season concludes with a promising home advantage, as three of their final four games are at home. This favorable schedule could be a significant factor in the Giants’ late-season push for the playoffs.
