On Wednesday, the Dallas Mavericks announced that All-Star guard Kyrie Irving underwent a successful surgery to repair a torn left knee ACL.
According to the team, the surgery was performed by Dr. Riley J Williams, MD, Chief of Sports Medicine at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City.
Further medical updates regarding Irving’s status will be provided as appropriate.
The 32-year-old Irving, who suffered the injury on March 3 in the team’s loss to the Kings, will finish the season averaging 24.7 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 4.6 per contest.
The Mavs(35-38), who continue their four-game road trip in Orlando against the Magic, are a 1/2 game behind the Suns for the 10th and final spot in the Play-In Tournament.
