Pistons guard Jaden Ivey continues to make progress in his recovery from a broken left fibula, the team announced Thursday.
According to the Pistons, Ivey’s rehabilitation efforts have transitioned to include weight-bearing strengthening exercises, running progression activity, and stationary shooting. The 22-year-old’s progress will be updated in another four weeks.
The injury occurred on January 1 against the Magic. Ivey was going for a loose ball when Magic guard Cole Anthony rolled up Ivey’s left leg, causing the injury.
Anthony and Ivey’s teammates were emotional after the injury.
The second-year guard addressed the media for the first time since injury after practice on Thursday, and according to him, he might be back this season.
“I feel like things are progressing well,” he said. “I am lining up to make a return.”
This season, Ivey is averaging 17.6 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 4.0 assists per contest.
The Pistons(37-29), who have won two straight, host the Wizards on Thursday night.
