On Friday, Turki Alalshikh and The Ring Magazine announced a big boxing card that will take place on May 2 in Times Square in New York City.
The Ring Magazine ‘Fatal Fury: City of The Wolves’ card will include the following three fights:
Ryan Garcia-Rolando Romero (147 pounds/Welterweight)
Devin Haney-Jose Carlos Ramirez (147 pounds/Welterweight)
WBO 140-pound champion Teofimo Lopez-Arnold Barboza Jr.
Garcia(24-1, 20 KOs) last stepped into the ring on April 20, 2024, securing a victory over Haney by unanimous decision. However, Garcia’s win was marred by a positive test for the banned substance Ostarine, leading to the fight being declared a no-contest. He was subsequently fined and suspended for a year. Garcia was scheduled to fight an exhibition in Japan, but he dropped out due to a wrist injury.
Romero (16-2, 13 KOs) is coming off a unanimous decision win over Manuel James last September.
Lopez(21-1, 13 KOs) fought last June when he defeated Steve Claggett. Barboza(32-0, 11 KOs) is coming off a split-decision victory over Jack Catteral on February 15
Haney(31-0, 15 KOs) has also not fought since last April; he should have a fairly easy night against Ramirez(29-2, 18 KOs), who lost to Barboza Jr. by unanimous decision last November.
If Haney and Garcia both win, the two are expected to battle at some point in 2025.
The fights will be on pay-per-view, but there is no word on how it will be distributed.
