The Dallas Mavericks received more bad news on Tuesday.
The team announced that center Daniel Gafford sustained a right knee sprain during Monday’s loss to the Sacramento Kings.
According to the team, Gafford will be re-evaluated within two weeks, with relevant updates to follow as appropriate.
This season, Gafford is averaging 12.3 points and 6.0 rebounds per contest.
With the injury to Gafford, the Mavs are depleted in the frontcourt. They are without Dereck Lively(ankle), Anthony Davis(abductor), and Dwight Powell(hip).
The Mavs(28-26) must find a way to keep the train moving without their bigs, which will be hard. Currently, the team is the 8th seed in the West, but they are only one game up on the Suns, who are currently the 11th seed, so this team does not have much room for error.
Dallas continues their five-game homestand on Wednesday when they host the Golden State Warriors.
