The NFL and The Associated Press announced Thursday that Josh Allen, Saquon Barkley, Joe Burrow, Jared Goff, and Lamar Jackson were named finalists for league MVP.
The winners of the regular season awards, including MVP, will be announced at NFL Honors on Thursday, Feb. 6, at Saenger Theatre in New Orleans.
Here’s what the MVP nominees have done this season:
Barkley (2,005) became the ninth player in NFL history to rush for 2,000+ yards. His 2,005 rushing yards are the 8th-most in NFL history.
This season, Burrow led the NFL in passing yards(4,918) and touchdowns(43).
Allen led the Bills(13-4) to second-best record in the AFC in the regular season. He threw for 3,731 yards and 28 touchdowns. Allen also added 531 yards rushing and 12 touchdowns.
Jackson had career highs in passing yards(4172) and touchdowns(41) with only four interceptions. The two-time MVP also added 915 yards rushing and four touchdowns.
Goff led the Lions to a franchise-record 15 wins as he threw for 4,629 yards and 37 touchdowns.
