76ers rookie Jared McCain had a fantastic season and was off to a great start.
However, his rookie season has come to an end.
On Thursday, the 76ers announced that McCain will miss the remainder of the 2024-25 season after he had surgery on December 17 to repair a lateral meniscus tear in his left knee.
According to the team, McCain, who complained about left knee soreness following the team’s loss to the Pacers in December, is progressing well. Further updates on his progress will be provided as appropriate.
The 16th overall pick in this year’s draft was a Rookie-of-the-Year favorite. He will end his season averaging 15.3 points, 2.4 rebounds, and 2.6 assists per contest.
Philadelphia 76ers (15-20), who will be without Joel Embiid(foot), return to action on Friday night when they host the New Orleans Pelicans(7-31).
