On Saturday, the Dallas Mavericks announced that guard Luka Dončić sustained a left calf strain during the Mavericks’ game against Minnesota on Wednesday, Dec. 25, 2024.
Dončić will be re-evaluated within one month, with updates to follow as appropriate.
The five-time All-Star had issues with his calf earlier this season. In October, he missed time with a left calf contusion, and now the Mavericks have to navigate at least the next month without their best player. Fortunately, Dallas is 7-3 without Dončić this season, so they’ve had success.
This season, Dončić is averaging 28.1 points, 8.3 rebounds, and 7.8 assists per contest.
The Mavericks, who fell to the Blazers 126-122 on Saturday night, will continue their four-game road trip on Monday night in Sacramento against the Kings.
