The Philadelphia Eagles (7-2) won their fifth straight after easily defeating the Dallas Cowboys (3-6) 34-6 at AT&T Stadium.
Philadelphia won in Dallas for the first time since 2017.
Let’s take a moment to appreciate Philly’s ‘Big 3’ and their outstanding performances on Sunday:
-Defense: The Eagles’ offense started slow on Sunday, but the defense kept picking them up throughout. Philadelphia held the Cowboys to only 146 total yards, which is the fifth consecutive time they held an opponent below 300 total yards. In addition, the Eagles created five turnovers.
-After a slow start, which featured two turnovers in the first half, Jalen Hurts settled down near the end of the first half and helped the Eagles dominate the second half. He finished the game 14/20 for 202, two touchdowns, an interception, and ran for 56 yards, two rushing touchdowns, and a fumble.
Hurts became the first quarterback since the 1970 NFL merger to produce a 100-plus passer rating and one-plus rushing touchdown in four consecutive games.
-LB Zack Baun had another strong game. He had eight tackles, forced two fumbles, and a fumble recovery. Baun has contributed to takeaways in three consecutive games
Honorable mention:
-WR A.J. Brown had five receptions for 105 yards, including a 44-yard reception in the third quarter. This was Brown’s third 100-yard game in 2024.
-DB Cooper DeJean had three tackles, a fumble recovery, and a 31-yard punt return.
End of the Day:
The Eagles did what they were supposed to do on Sunday against the Cowboys. Dallas was without Dak Prescott; quite frankly, they are a bad football team. The Eagles should have scored more points and dominated this game even more than they did.
At this point, Philadelphia has taken advantage of their schedule and beaten up on some bad teams. The five team the Eagles have beaten during their winning streak have a combined record of 13-35.
The next three weeks will be interesting as the Eagles host the Commanders( 7-3) on Thursday night and go the road to battle the Rams (4-4) and Ravens (7-3). The Eagles are playing well, but we will learn more about this team after these next three weeks.
Next up:
Eagles host their NFC East rival, the Washington Commanders, in a massive game on Thursday night, which could determine who wins the NFC East in 2024.
