Cavs’ Emoni Bates has surgery to repair torn meniscus

Cleveland Cavaliers guard/forward Emoni Bates underwent successful arthroscopic surgery to treat a torn meniscus in his right knee, the team announced Monday.

According to the Cavs, the 20-year-old Bates will be re-evaluated in approximately one month, at which time his status and return to basketball activities will be updated as appropriate.

Last season, the 2023 second-round pick, who is a two-way player, spent most of his time with the team’s G League affiliate, the Canton Charge.
