The Minnesota Vikings have agreed to terms on a two-year contract extension with DT Harrison Phillips, the team announced on Tuesday.

The deal will keep Phillips with the Vikings through the 2026 season.

According to the NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, the two-year contract extension is worth up to $19 million with over $13 million guaranteed.

The 28-year-old Phillips spent the first four seasons of his career with the Bills before signing a three-year, $19.5 million contract with the Vikings in free agency in 2022.

Phillips tallied five tackles, including one for loss, 1.0 sack, a quarterback hurry, and a pass defensed in the Vikings season opener at the New York Giants in Week 1, helping limit the Giants offense to 74 rushing yards and six points.

In his second season in Minnesota in 2023, Phillips recorded career highs in total tackles (92) and sacks (3.0), adding six quarterback hurries and a pair of passes defensed. His 92 tackles were the second most in the NFL among all defensive linemen, trailing only Derrick Brown (103 tackles).

The seven-year veteran helped anchor a defensive line that allowed just 3.76 yards per rush in 2023, the fourth-best mark in the NFL, and only two rushing plays of 20 yards or more, which tied for the third-fewest by a team in the last 30 years. Only the 2010 Steelers (one) and 1997 Jaguars (one) allowed fewer 20-yard rushing plays in a season over that span.

In his career, Phillips has appeared in 79 games, including 45 starts, and has notched 258 total tackles, including 13 for loss, 6.0 sacks, six passes defensed, and four fumble recoveries.

Phillips, who was named a team captain for the 2024 season, is a three-time Walter Payton Man of the Year nominee. He received the nod in consecutive seasons in Buffalo (2020 and 2021) and was selected as the Vikings nominee in 2023.
