The Philadelphia 76ers have signed C/F Max Fiedler, the team announced on Saturday.
According to reports, Fiedler’s contract is an Exhibit 10 deal. This means it’s a one-year contract, which is non-guaranteed making the league minimum. The contract can be converted to a two-way deal, which would allow Fiedler to split his time between the 76ers and their G League affiliate, the Delaware Blue Coats, but this conversion must be done before the regular season.
Fiedler, 23, who went undrafted in the 2024 NBA draft, most recently appeared in a pair of games for the 76ers during the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas, averaging 2.0 points and 2.5 rebounds.
Before teaming up with the 76ers for summer action, Fiedler spent five collegiate seasons at Rice from 2019-24, averaging 9.3 points, 7.7 rebounds, and 3.9 assists.
The Florida native ended his college career with a bang, setting records at Rice. He is the all-time leader in rebounds (1,144), assists (571), field-goal percentage (65.8%), games played (148), and games started (135), while ranking second in total blocked shots (125).
During his final season with the Owls, the 6-11 C/F made NCAA Division I history with a unique achievement. He became the first player to record 1,000 career points, 1,000 rebounds, 500 assists, 100 blocks, and 100 steals.
If he stays with 76ers, Fiedler will probably spend most of his time in Delaware with Blue Coats next season, which will give him opportunity to continue to develop.
