The Cleveland Cavaliers will be without Donovan Mitchell after he received a Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) injection to treat a left knee bone bruise, the team announced on Monday.
Mitchell, who missed the previous two games with the injury, including Sunday’s loss to the Knicks, will be listed OUT for the next three games (March 5 vs. Boston, March 6 at Atlanta, and March 8 vs. Minnesota).
According to the team, the All-Star’s status will be re-evaluated over the weekend and updated as appropriate.
Mitchell is averaging 28.0 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 6.2 assists per contest this season.
After winning nine straight, the Cavs are 4-5 in their last nine games, and this season, Cleveland is 7-6 without Mitchell.
The Cavs (39-21), currently the third seed in the East, host the Celtics on Tuesday night.
