Pels’ Ingram named Western Conference Player of the Week

Pelicans forward Brandon Ingram has been named the Western Conference Player of the Week for games played March 20-26, the league announced on Monday

Ingram, 25, led New Orleans to a 3-0 week, recording averages of 31.3 points, 10.0 assists, and 6.3 rebounds in 33.0 minutes per game, while shooting .525 from the field, .462 from deep, and 1.000 from the foul stripe. Among Western Conference players with winning records on the week, Ingram ranked first in points and assists per contest.

The six-year veteran began the week with a 32-point, seven-assist outing against San Antonio in the Pelicans’ 119-84 win on March 21. In New Orleans’s 115-96 win over Charlotte on March 23, Ingram notched the first triple-double of his career with 30 points, 11 rebounds, and 10 assists. Secured in the third quarter, Ingram became just the third player in franchise history to notch a triple-double before the fourth frame, and the third to notch 30/10/10 overall. Ingram also became the eighth player in NBA history to record a 30+ point triple-double without committing a turnover..

Ingram’s Player of the Week honor is the fourth of his career. He has been named Player of the Week in each of his four seasons as a Pelicans.
