Pelicans give medical update on Zion Williamson, Nance Jr, Alvarado

On Tuesday, the New Orleans Pelicans announced the following medical updates:

-Zion Williamson continues to make progress with rehabilitation for his right hamstring strain. Further updates will be provided following medical imaging next week. Williamson has missed the last 25 games after he suffered a right hamstring strain on January 2 in Philadelphia against the 76ers.

In 29 games, he holds season averages of 26.0 points, 7.0 rebounds, and 4.6 assists per contest.

-Jose Alvarado has been diagnosed with a stress reaction in his right tibia. Alvarado will be re-evaluated in three weeks, and his return to play timeline will be updated at a later date.

In 61 games, Alvarado is averaging 9.0 points, 2.3 rebounds, and 3.0 assists per contest.

-Larry Nance Jr., who suffered a left ankle sprain during Saturday’s game at New York, will be re-evaluated in two weeks, and his timetable to return will be updated accordingly.

In 50 games, Nance is averaging 7.7 points and 5.9 rebounds per contest.

Currently, the Pelicans(30-32) are in a virtual tie with Portland(29-31) for the 10th seed in the Western Conference and would be in the Play-In Tournament if the season ended today.
