Doncic talks Jordan hug, winning third straight All-Star Game, more

For the third straight season, Mavericks star Luka Doncic won an All-Star Game as Team LeBron defeated Team Durant 163-160 Sunday night at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse in Cleveland.

Doncic, who was making his third consecutive All-Star appearance, had eights in 25 minutes of action. 

Many celebrities come out to the festivities during All-Star Weekend, including rapper Ludacris. When Doncic was asked which celebrity he was most excited to see, he mentioned Ludacris.

In addition, the NBA honored the 75 best players in league history at halftime, and of course, the great Michael Jordan was in attendance. The six-time champion showed Doncic some love by giving the fourth-year guard a big hug.

After the game, the 22-year-0ld discussed his exchange with Jordan.

“It’s amazing, I don’t know how to explain that moment,’ Doncic said. “It’s just unbelievable. MJ knows my name, it’s a lot. Just an unbelievable moment. I have no words for that.”

After a slow start, Doncic is having a stellar season as he’s averaging 27.5 points, 9.2 rebounds, and 9.0 assists per contest. Led by Doncic, Dallas(35-24) is a season-high 11 games over .500 and are 19-6 in their last 25 games, including winning six or their last seven games.

At this point, the Mavericks are playing their best basketball of the season.

Dallas returns to action Friday night in Utah against the Jazz.
