Jaguars trade Scott to Philly for Jameson Houston

The Jacksonville Jaguars have traded CB Josiah Scott to the Philadelphia Eagles for CB Jameson Houston and a 2023 sixth-round pick, the team announced today.

Houston was originally signed with Cleveland as an undrafted free agent in 2020. He also spent time with Carolina and, most recently, Philadelphia, where he played in three games to conclude the 2020 regular season.

Scott was a former fourth-round pick of the Jaguars in 2020, and played in six games for Jacksonville last season.

In another move, the Jaguars signed rookie DE Jordan Smith.

Smith, 6-7, 255, was selected in the fourth round (No. 121 overall) of the 2021 draft.  The Lithonia, Ga. native recorded 96 tackles, 14.5 sacks and 27 tackles for loss in his two seasons at Alabama-Birmingham. He earned First-Team All-Conference USA in 2020 after recording 43 tackles, 4.5 sacks and one INT as a senior. In 2019, Smith finished with 10.0 sacks, the third-most in Conference USA.
