In one of the more shocking news in recent NFL history, Colts QB Andrew Luck has retired, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
The 29-year-old Luck has been dealing with a leg injury, and according to Schefter, Luck is “mentally worn down.”
The former No. 1 pick of the Indianapolis Colts in the 2012 NFL Draft, spent seven seasons in the league, all with the Colts.
Filed to ESPN: Andrew Luck has informed the Colts he is retiring from the NFL, per source. There will be a press conference Sunday to make it official, but Luck is mentally worn down, and now checking out.
