Coming off an appearance in the AFC title game last season, the Jacksonville Jaguars had a lot of hope coming into 2018. After starting the season 3-1, things were looking good. Then, the Jaguars lost four straight, and now they are tied with the Colts, who they play this Sunday, for last place in the AFC South.
Jacksonville’s vaunted defense was expected to carry this team in 2018, and armed with a new contract, QB Blake Bortles was supposed to take that next step. However, the Jags have struggled on both sides of the ball. With 8 games left, Jacksonville has the talent to turn their season around, so says star corner, Jalen Ramsey.
“We know the talent we have in here,” Ramsey said on Thursday. “We have faith that we can get it done. We just have to go out there and do it.”
Not only is Ramsey confident, but the 2017 All-Pro feels that there is a lot of optimism around the team.
“I think the mood is cool, very optimistic about these next eight [games] we have coming up,” Ramsey said.
At this point, Jacksonville is two and a half games behind Houston in the AFC South and two games behind the final wild-card spot. The Jaguars have their work cut out for them, but with the return of RB Leonard Fournette, maybe they can turn things around in the final 8 games of the season. Let’s see what happens!
