Fresh out of Lower Merion High School, in the suburbs of Philadelphia, Kobe Bryant had a lot of confidence. So much confidence that his teammates nicknamed him “Showboat.”
During his first appearance in the playoffs back in 1997, an 18-year-old Kobe took center stage as he shot four airballs down the stretch against the Utah Jazz in the second-round of the playoffs. The Lakers would lose that game and the series to Utah.
Today, Bryant talked about what he learned from that experience and more.
