After so much heartache and pain over the years, the Philadelphia Eagles have finally won a Super Bowl.
Every team has those moments, those situations that define a season.
For the Eagles, there were many moments. Whether it’s Jake Elliott’s 61-yard field goal to beat the Giants, or Philly’s victory over the Rams after Carson Wentz went down with a torn ACL.
The Eagles always found a way.
For Eagles DE Steven Means, the moment that told him that this team could go all happened early in the season:
“Against the Chiefs, when we lost,” Means told the Go4it Podcast. “Corey Graham, we were on the sideline, and I think it was when the ball bounced off somebody’s shoe and Zach Ertz caught it, and they reviewed, and it was a catch. It hit his foot or something on his body. It went up in the air, and Zach caught it and kept running. He looked back, and everybody was like ‘WOAH.’ He(Corey Graham) looked at me, and he said, ‘Bro, that’s the stuff that happened to us when we won a Super Bowl in Baltimore. When I was with the Ravens, that’s the type of stuff that happened to us. These type of moments,’ and I was like, ‘Okay.’ And every game something like that happened. A ‘wow’ moment.”

“When we started to lose people, key people, starters. The heart of their positions. Jason Peters the heart of the O-line. Jordan Hicks, the heart of the linebackers, Chris Maragos, the heart of the special teams. You got Ronald Darby, who went crazy in the secondary, lost him the first game of the season. You got Carson Wentz, who was the heart of the offense, and arguably, the heart of the team. When you see those injuries, and things like that happen, and guys step up and not losing a beat. It’s like, man, we got something,” Means said.
Based on what we saw in 2017, it’s pretty clear that the Eagles had something special!
