On the road to winning Super Bowl 52, the Philadelphia Eagles had a tremendous home-field advantage.
The team went 9-1 at home, including the playoffs, and the only game they lost at home was a meaningless regular season game against the Cowboys in Week 17.
Eagles LB Dannell Ellerbe, who joined the team late in the season, talked about the impact that the fans had on the team in 2017:
“Just to know how starving Philadelphia has been for a Super Bowl championship, and to bring the first one, it’s a great feeling,” Ellerbe said today at boxer Danny Garcia’s media workout. “These fans give you energy and make you play better.”
Ellerbe went on to talk about the bond that Philly athletes have for one another:
“It’s all love between the Philly athletes. We all show up for each other’s events and support each other. That’s really big to have a supportive community and I’m sure everyone will be rooting for Danny next Saturday,” Ellerbe said.
You can criticize Philly fans for a lot of things, but one thing you can’t knock is their passion, and that passion helped fuel the Philadelphia Eagles to great heights in 2017!
