Ex-Chief Larry Johnson on Hunt: ‘I can see this kid a 1,000 yards rushing, and a 1,000 yards receiving’

Chiefs rookie RB Kareem Hunt’s first NFL game started out awful, but ended great. Hunt, who fumbled his first NFL carry, finished the game against the Patriots with 246 total yards (148 yards rushing and 98 yards receiving) and 3 touchdowns. More importantly, the Chiefs beat the Patriots 42-27 in their season opener.

Former Chiefs RB Larry Johnson, who wore the number 27 for Kansas City like Hunt, told TMZ Sports that he believes Hunt could become one of the best backs in Chiefs’ history. Furthermore, Johnson believes Hunt could put up some big numbers for Kansas City in 2017:

‘I can see this kid a 1,000 yards rushing, and a 1000 yards receiving. And he being the Rookie of the Year,” Johnson told TMZ Sports. “I can see that for him because the offense is clicking, everything coming out firing, and the defense is helping the offense get back on the field a lot more.”

We’ll see if Hunt can continue to put up big time numbers, but as of right now, he is off to a great start!
