Carmelo Anthony has not been getting much love of late. Phil Jackson keeps talking about him, Mike D’Antoni has not spoken very highly of him, and reportedly, he is having drama with his wife Lala. However, one guy came to Melo’s defense; his former coach Mike Woodson. Woodson and Melo helped lead the Knicks to a 54 win season in 2013, and the Knicks advanced to second-round of the playoffs that year.
Woodson told TMZ Sports:
“I love Carmelo Anthony, that’s all I’m gonna say; he was great for me.”
Woodson, who is an assistant coach with the Clippers, might be trying to convince Doc Rivers to get Melo via trade.
Melo and the Clippers would be perfect together!
