Chiefs’ Steve Nelson: ‘I think we’re real close’

The Kansas City Chiefs were an Eric Fisher holding call away from possibly taking the Steelers to OT, and possibly going to the AFC Championship game last season. In 2016, the Chiefs were able to win the AFC West and get a home playoff game in the divisional round. Unfortunately, just like in 2015, they were not able to go any further.  Chiefs’ CB Steve Nelson believes that his team is not that far away from a title. “I think everybody on our team has to just look in the mirror, and go deeper and find that inner, extra push that you have to give yourself man,” Nelson told goforitgantsports. “I think we’re real close man. I think we got a good chance. We have everybody to do it. We just gotta do it.”

Nelson, who started 15 games last season in KC, is looking to improve upon what he did in 2016.  “Last year was really my first time playing. I was comfortable just breaking up the pass, not getting beat. I only gave up two touchdowns the whole year,” said Nelson.

“There was plenty of opportunities when I could have just went for the ball, but too nervous; thought I was going to miss it. Happy with knocking it down, so I think this year I might as well go for it all.”

Go for it all is what the Chiefs are looking to do in 2017!
