Brees has 22 career games with at least four touchdown passes and zero interceptions, tied with New England’s TOM BRADY (22) for the most such games by a quarterback in NFL history.

Thomas’ 211 receiving yards are the most in a single game in Saints’ history, surpassing the previous high of 205 set by WES CHANDLER on September 2, 1979 against Atlanta. He is the third Saint to record 200+ receiving yards in a single game, joining Chandler and TORRANCE SMALL (200 on December 24, 1994 at Denver).

  • Los Angeles Chargers quarterback PHILIP RIVERS passed for 228 yards with two touchdowns and zero interceptions for a 105.9 passer rating in the Chargers’ 25-17 win at Seattle.

Rivers, who has started 200 consecutive games dating back to September 11, 2006, became the fourth quarterback in NFL history to start at least 200 consecutive games, joining Pro Football Hall of Famer BRETT FAVRE (297 consecutive games), ELI MANNING (210) and PEYTON MANNING (208).

  • Kansas City quarterback PATRICK MAHOMES passed for 375 yards with three touchdowns and one interception for a 129 passer rating in the Chiefs’ 37-21 win at Cleveland.

Mahomes, who appeared in his 10th career game today, has 29 touchdown passes and 3,185 passing yards, both the most by a player in his first 10 career games in NFL history. Mahomes is the only quarterback in league annals to pass for at least 3,000 yards in his first 10 career games.

Mahomes has passed for at least 300 yards in eight consecutive games, tied with Indianapolis’ ANDREW LUCK (2014) for the most consecutive games with 300+ passing yards in a single season in NFL history.

Conner, who has 1,085 scrimmage yards (706 rushing, 379 receiving) and 10 total touchdowns (nine rushing, one receiving) this season, is the only player in franchise history with at least 1,000 scrimmage yards and 10 touchdowns in the team’s first eight games of a season.

The Vikings’ 10 sacks surpassed the previous franchise-high of nine, which was accomplished four times and most recently on October 25, 1993 at Chicago.

Hunter, who returned a fumble 32 yards for a touchdown in the fourth quarter, became the second player with at least 3.5 sacks and a touchdown in a single game since the individual sack became an official statistic in 1982. HOF Willie Roaf on Brees: ‘It looks like he has a lot of football left in him’

Saints QB Drew Brees has been breaking records and surpassing legends in 2018. On Sunday, Brees became the fourth quarterback in NFL history throw for 500 touchdowns, and a few weeks before that, Brees surpassed Peyton Manning to become the all-time leader in NFL history in passing yards.

The 39-year-old Brees is still playing at an elite level. In six games, Brees has thrown 14 touchdowns with only one interception, and he has the Saints(6-1) in first place in the NFC South.

Throughout his career, Brees has been doubted, but he defied the odds, so says former Saint and Hall of Famer Willie Roaf.

“I think Drew Brees has always been an overachiever,” Roaf recently told the Go4it podcast with host Paul Gant.  “Drew Brees, from the time he left Purdue, from the time he left high school outside of Austin, Texas not getting recruited to some of them schools, UT(Texas), and having to go to Purdue. And then for him getting drafted by San Diego, and then them bringing somebody in, hurting his shoulder and going to New Orleans. He’s always had to prove something.

“Drew takes great care of himself; he’s a great guy, and he’s just consistent. He comes to work every day; his teammates love him. He does a lot of great things in the community. So, Drew Brees, it looks like he got a lot of football left in him, too. The way he’s playing this year, so I think New Orleans knows how special he is, and how special they were to get him in that situation because he could have easily ended up with the Dolphins… From 06′ until now, it’s been some great years with him and Sean Payton together.”

Brees is special, and I think sometimes we talk a lot about Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers in this era, but forget about the greatness of Brees. However, the numbers speak for themselves.

Regarding the 2018 Saints, If Brees continues to play at this level, the Saints are going to be a tough team to beat come playoff time. No team wants to have to travel to the Mercedes-Benz Superdome to play New Orleans in the playoffs, so this is a dangerous team, especially if the defense picks up its play.

Listen below at 43:58 as Roaf talks Brees:

Watch the alternate ending to the Saints-Vikings playoff game

On this glorious Sunday, April 1, 2018, we very fortunate to have two great holidays. We have Easter and April Fools’ Day.

To celebrate April Fools’ Day, Funniest NFL Memes changed the ending of the Saints- Vikings Divisional round playoff game. Instead of the Vikings’ Stefon Diggs running into the end zone for the game-winning touchdown, we had an alternate ending.

Take a look:

Roger Goodell talks Tom Benson

Here is a statement from NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell on the passing of New Orleans Saints and Pelicans owner Tom Benson today:

Tom Benson’s contributions to New Orleans and the National Football League were legendary. He purchased a team that had never had a winning season; by the third year of his ownership, the Saints were in the playoffs. Tom kept the Saints together through the tragedy of Hurricane Katrina, and his decision to bring the team back to New Orleans gave the entire region hope and confidence that they would recover. The Saints rewarded their fans with tremendous football and a Super Bowl championship.

Tom loved New Orleans, where he was a generous and caring philanthropist.  Within the NFL, he was a true leader among NFL owners. He served as the chairman of the League’s Finance Committee for many years, was a key advisor to my predecessors, and was someone whom I frequently turned to since becoming Commissioner. I know that the entire NFL family joins me in extending our most heartfelt condolences to Gayle Benson and the entire Saints organization.

According to the Saints, Benson died at the Ochsner Medical Center with his wife by his side. Benson was 90-years-old.

Report: Vikings reached out to Drew Brees(WATCH)

According to the NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, the Minnesota Vikings have reached out to the representatives of free agent QB Drew Brees.

While it might be a long shot, the Viking are said to be looking at all their QB options, according to the report.

Brees has been on record as saying that he expects to be back in New Orleans next season.

According to various reports, the Vikings are said to be the favorites to land free agent QB Kirk Cousins.

Sit back and enjoy the ride because NFL free agency is going to be fun!

Ingram on Brees: ‘At least, five to six more elite years’

New Orleans Saints QB Drew Brees had a tremendous season in 2017. With the support of a great running game, Brees passed for 4334 yards and 23 touchdowns. In his 17th season in the NFL, Brees became a Pro Bowler for the 10th time.

Also, Brees had the Saints one miracle play away from the NFC title game.

At 39, you wonder how many great seasons Brees has left. According to Saints RB Mark Ingram, Brees could play to his mid-40s.

“Man, he can go as long as he wants. At least, five to six more elite years,” Ingram told TMZ Sports.  “He’s a great dude. How he prepares, how he recovers; he’s a legend.”

Ingram thinks what the Saints experienced against the Vikings in the divisional round of the playoff will help the team moving:

“We feel like what we experienced, what we accomplished this year, and the feeling that we had in Minnesota, will catapult us to the next level,” Ingram said.

Playing in the NFL at a high level at the age of 39 is a fantastic feat. To play at an elite level in your mid-40s would be incredible.

While Brees will be a free agent, he has said numerous times that he wants to return to New Orleans.

Can Brees be elite at 45? I doubt it, but I could see two or three more good to great seasons for Brees, especially with the running game that the Saints have with Ingram and Alvin Kamara.
