Le’Veon Bell got an album on the way. Bell’s album Post Interview will drop on March 10th.
Hopefully the lyrics are not too edgy; there is a parental advisory sticker on the album. I would tell Le’Veon to get your money first, and then drop the album. In the end, maybe Le’Veon spits hot fire!
One of the marquee names in the 2017 NFL Draft had a mixed showing at the NFL Combine today. Leonard Fournetteran the 40 in 4.51 seconds. All the talk about his weight (240 pounds) was silenced after that time. According toNFL research,Fournette time was the fastest by a running back weighing 240 pounds or more. Conversely, Fournette’s vertical jump was 28.5. That jump was better than only two running backs in the last four combines.
Not sure how much it will hurt his draft stock, but it probably won’t hurt too much if he has a better pro day.
First Revis, now Brandon Marshall will be released by the Jets according to reports. Apparently it was at Marshall’s request. The Jets don’t have a quarterback, so in reality they are kind of rebuilding.
#Jets save $7.5M by releasing Brandon Marshall… he'll count $1.875M against the cap in dead money
According to an ESPN report, Colin Kaepernick will be standing during the national anthem next season. Kaepernick, who kneeled during national anthem for all 16 games, is expected to opt out of his contract with the 49ers.
Call me cynical, but I believe this is a byproduct of Kaepernick trying to prove to other teams that he is not going to be a distraction. How much has truly changed since he started taking a knee? Maybe a little, but definitely not enough.
The New York Jets have announced that they will be releasing CB Darelle Revis. He was scheduled to make 13 million in 2017. Not a good few weeks for Revis. First, the arrest and four felony charges, and now this. He may not be the shut down corner that he once was, but he does not stink either. A guy with his skill set and ability will find a job.
We have informed CB Darrelle Revis of his impending release.
The Redskins will slap the franchise tag on Kirk Cousins again! This time it is an exclusive tag, which means that Cousins can’t negotiate with anybody else. The Redskins have until July 15 to make a deal with Cousins. Redskins will pay Cousins $23.94 million under the tag.
Kirk Cousins is good, but you can find better. I would not give him a long term deal if I am the Redskins. He is in between a game changer and a game manager. Good enough to take you to the playoffs, but not good enough to win a title. No matter what happens Cousins has 23.94 million reasons to be happy!
Nate Ebner has won two Super Bowls with the New England Patriots, not only does Ebner love football, but he also loves the game of Rugby. Ebner discussed his love of rugby with Go4it’s Paul Gant. “Man, I’ll never be done with rugby; rugby is in my blood,” said Ebner. “I’ll find my way back there even if I’m 45 years old playing in an old boys league somewhere in Ohio. It does not matter.”
Ebner was a part of the U.S. national rugby team, and represented the United States in the 2016 Rio Olympics. “Some guys like to go play pickup basketball in the off-season, play in leagues. I go play touch Rugby games that’s just my thing.”
After being down 28-3 in the third quarter of Super Bowl 51, the Patriots stormed back and took the game to overtime. At that point, Patriots’ safety Nate Ebner felt New England had the Falcons right where they wanted them. Ebner, in an interview with Go4it host Paul Gant, felt the Patriots were in a good shape once they received the ball first in overtime:
“I mean when we won the toss, with the momentum that we had, I think a lot of us would say there was no doubt we were going to go down and score,” said Ebner. “We were prepared to fight for however long it took. Obviously the offense took care of business, and the way they started moving the ball we just kind of wore them down, and it was just too much for them to handle.”
Former NFL quarterback Vince Young is attempting a comeback. According to his agent Leigh Steinberg, Young has been in talks with the Saskatchewan Roughriders of the CFL, and apparently there is some interest from the new Spring League. Also, Young has a trademark application out there for the slogan “Make Vince Great Again.”
I’m not sure at 34 Young can be great again, but I am rooting for the guy. Canada is a good start, and who knows what could happen from there!
Watch what you do on social media! According to former NFL player Fernando Bryant, his wife’s Instagram post from three years ago cost him his job. Bryant, who was drafted in the first-round by the Jacksonville Jaguars in 1999, was the head coach for Strong Rock Christian School. Bryant’s termination letter cites social media as a reason for his firing.
