Mo Evans on Raptors: ‘They’re no longer one-dimensional'(AUDIO)

The Toronto Raptors have all the makings of a team that is ready to go to that next level, and for the Raptors, that next level is the NBA Finals.

In previous seasons, it has been all about DeMar DeRozan and Kyle Lowry. However, this year the Raptors have something that they have not had in past couple seasons, and that’s a bench.  The “Bench Mob” as they are affectionately called helped the Raptors win a franchise-best 59 games, which was the best record in the Eastern Conference.

That bench led by C.J. Miles and Fred VanVleet is one of the reasons former NBA player Mo Evans believes Toronto could go to the NBA Finals:

“I think the thing that makes them better than they have been in the past is the bench,” Evans told the Go4it podcast.

“Their bench has come in scoring and playing with great confidence, and to be a championship caliber team you have to get help from everywhere; you have to be well rounded. You can’t be a one-dimensional team, and they’re no longer one-dimensional.”

The Raptors bench has been outplayed by the Wizards bench in the series, but one of Toronto’s better scorers off the bench VanVleet has been banged up.

The Raptors took care of their business at home, and the Wizards did the same.  Now, the the series is tied 2-2 with two of the final three games in this series in Toronto.

When it’s all said and done, I expect the Raptors to move on, but for that to happen, the bench must step up!
