Last season, Vikings kicker Greg Jospeh made a lot of big kicks, and on Tuesday, the Vikings showed Jospeh some love as they announced he has been re-signed.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, it’s a one-year, almost fully-guaranteed deal.
In 2022, Joseph, 28, connected on 26 of 33 field goals, including an NFL-record-tying five game-winning field goals, also setting a new single-season franchise record.
Last season in Week 16 against the Giants, Joseph made a career-long game-winning 61-yard field goal, setting a new team record for longest field goal made in Vikings history, ultimately leading him to earn his second NFC Special Teams Player of the Week award of the 2022 season.
Joseph, who will return for his third season in Minnesota in 2023 and sixth in the NFL was undrafted free agent with Miami in 2018 and has spent time with Cleveland, Carolina, Tennessee, Tampa Bay and Minnesota in 50 career games played.
DePaola is back
Vikings also announced that they had re-signed their Pro-Bowl LS Andrew DePaola on Tuesday.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, it’s a three-year, $4.025 million deal that includes $2.265 million guaranteed, the largest guarantee given to a long snapper.
Last season, the 35-year-old appeared in all 17 games, helping the club tie an NFL record for game-winning field goals (5), record the 10th-best net punting average (42.5) and the eighth-lowest opponent punt return average (7.7). He originally entered the league as an undrafted free agent with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2012, where he spent the first five seasons of his career. He has appeared in 106 career games, playing for Tampa Bay, Chicago, Las Vegas and Minnesota.
