76ers’ fans pay homage to Sam Hinkie

Ex-76ers GM Sam Hinkie is hated by some, and loved by many. He coined the phrase “Trust The Process” when the 76ers were in tank mode. However, the 76ers are sitting pretty because of some of the moves made by Hinkie during his time as GM.

Tonight, Sixers fans raised a banner in honor of Hinkie at a draft lottery party in Philadelphia.

We’ll see what the night hold for the 76ers!

Joel Embiid to have surgery

It’s been a rough three years for 76ers’ C Joel Embiid. He missed his first two seasons because of a foot injury, and today the 76ers announced that he will need surgery on his left knee to repair a torn meniscus.  Embiid played in 31 games for 76ers. He was ruled out for the season on March 1st.

Lets hope “The Process” makes a complete recovery!

Ex-NBA player is now an usher

“The Mayor” is now the “The Usher.” Former 76ers player Steve Mix is now an usher during spring training games for the New York Mets.

According to the New York Post, the 69-year old Mix just wanted to stay busy:

“I heard somebody say sometime, when you retire and you do nothing, how do you know when you are done?’’ Mix told the New York Post. “I need that place where I can hang my hat. I just need a place where I can do something.’’

Good for Mix! I enjoyed him during his time as a broadcaster for the 76ers. Glad to see he is well!

Embiid out for the year

“The Process” has ended for now! 76ers have announced that Joel Embiid will be out for the season with a meniscus tear in his left knee. After missing the first two years of his career with a foot injury, Embiid played in 31 games for the 76er this season.

Embiid has missed the first two seasons of his career. In his first season, he played in only 31 games.  I think the 76ers have an interesting decision when it comes to building their franchise around Embiid. Can you really trust that he can stay healthy?  I am not sure you can. Either the 76ers have bad luck or bad karma. Whatever they have, it ain’t good!

Embiid out indefinitely

“Trust the Process!” It is getting harder for 76ers fans to keep the faith. First, Ben Simmons was ruled out for the year because his foot is not fully healed.(more on him in a moment) Now, Joel Embiid is out indefinitely with swelling and soreness in the knee. He is scheduled for a MRI. The 76ers should not rush him back. Actually, they should even think about just shutting him down for the year.   Also, Ben Simmons had a procedure on his foot to help with healing.

No Ben Simmons this year!

The Philadelphia 76ers announced on Friday that rookie Ben Simmons is out for the year. According to the 76ers, Simmons foot is not completely healed.

I guess he is on the Nerlens Noel, Joel Embiid plan (both players did not play as rookies).

I guess the good news for Simmons is he is still eligible to win Rookie of the Year next season.

Do Philly fans still #TrustTheProcess?

Nerlens Noel to Mavericks

The 76ers finally traded a center, but it is not who you thought it would be. 76ers send Nerlens Noel to the Mavericks for Justin Anderson, Andrew Bogut and 2017 1st round pick(which is top 18 protected; can convert to two 2nd rounders).

Analysis: Bogut probably will be bought out. The Mavericks probably won’t make the playoffs, so the 1st rounder will convert to two 2nd round picks. The 76ers get some value for a player that they probably were not going to re-sign(Noel restricted free agent at end of the year), and the Mavericks get a young, shot blocking, athletic big in Noel. Maybe Noel helps the Mavericks make a playoff push.

Philadelphia 76ers might be busy before the trade deadline

According to The Vertical’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the Philadelphia 76ers have traded Ersan Ilyasova to the Hawks for Tiago Splitter and two second-round picks. Also, Wojnarowski is reporting that the 76ers and Bulls are still talking about a possible swap for Jahlil Okafor.

Hopefully there will be some big moves come Thursday!
