Report: Chiefs will trade Alex Smith to Redskins

According to the Kansas City Star, the Chiefs will trade QB Alex Smith to the Redskins.

There is no word on the compensation, and any trade involving Smith, 33, can’t be completed until the first day of the new league year, according to the report.

Smith, who has one year left on his contract, will sign a four-year contract extension with Redskins, according to ESPN

Smith spent five seasons with the Chiefs.

Wow! This means Kirk Cousins will have a new home and means the Patrick Mahomes Era has begun in Kansas City.
