After not getting a lot of playing time with the Jets in 2015, Jeremy Kerley wanted to go to a team that would give him a chance to play. He got that chance last season with the 49ers, and now he is staying. According to reports, Kerley and the 49ers agreed to a deal that will pay him 10.5 million over three years.
Kerley put up solid numbers for the 49ers(64 catches, 667 yards, 3 tds) in 2016. He had a career high in receptions, and tied his career high in touchdowns.
One WR off the market: Jeremy Kerley and 49ers agree on a 3-year, $10.5 million deal, per @caplannfl and me.
Three way trades don’t happen in the NFL. According to Ian Rapoport, it could be possible. In a trade, the 49ers would get Kirk Cousins. The Redskins would get Tony Romo, and the Cowboys get draft picks.
This would be a blockbuster deal! All the teams would benefit in my opinion. The Cowboys get assets for Romo; the 49ers and Redskins get an upgrade at the quarterback position. It is a risk for the Redskins because Romo is 36(37 in April), and has had injury issues. If healthy, short term, Romo is an upgrade over Cousins. Another question is whether the Cowboys would be willing to trade within their division. If the price is right, anything is possible. Remember Donovan McNabb to the Redskins? That trade worked out well for the Eagles, not so well for the Redskins.
As #Redskins & #49ers discuss a potential deal for QB Kirk Cousins in the near future, I’m told they may include the #Cowboys (Romo) as well
Le’Veon Bell got an album on the way. Bell’s album Post Interview will drop on March 10th.
Hopefully the lyrics are not too edgy; there is a parental advisory sticker on the album. I would tell Le’Veon to get your money first, and then drop the album. In the end, maybe Le’Veon spits hot fire!
First Revis, now Brandon Marshall will be released by the Jets according to reports. Apparently it was at Marshall’s request. The Jets don’t have a quarterback, so in reality they are kind of rebuilding.
#Jets save $7.5M by releasing Brandon Marshall… he'll count $1.875M against the cap in dead money
According to an ESPN report, Colin Kaepernick will be standing during the national anthem next season. Kaepernick, who kneeled during national anthem for all 16 games, is expected to opt out of his contract with the 49ers.
Call me cynical, but I believe this is a byproduct of Kaepernick trying to prove to other teams that he is not going to be a distraction. How much has truly changed since he started taking a knee? Maybe a little, but definitely not enough.
The New York Jets have announced that they will be releasing CB Darelle Revis. He was scheduled to make 13 million in 2017. Not a good few weeks for Revis. First, the arrest and four felony charges, and now this. He may not be the shut down corner that he once was, but he does not stink either. A guy with his skill set and ability will find a job.
We have informed CB Darrelle Revis of his impending release.
The Redskins will slap the franchise tag on Kirk Cousins again! This time it is an exclusive tag, which means that Cousins can’t negotiate with anybody else. The Redskins have until July 15 to make a deal with Cousins. Redskins will pay Cousins $23.94 million under the tag.
Kirk Cousins is good, but you can find better. I would not give him a long term deal if I am the Redskins. He is in between a game changer and a game manager. Good enough to take you to the playoffs, but not good enough to win a title. No matter what happens Cousins has 23.94 million reasons to be happy!
Nate Ebner has won two Super Bowls with the New England Patriots, not only does Ebner love football, but he also loves the game of Rugby. Ebner discussed his love of rugby with Go4it’s Paul Gant. “Man, I’ll never be done with rugby; rugby is in my blood,” said Ebner. “I’ll find my way back there even if I’m 45 years old playing in an old boys league somewhere in Ohio. It does not matter.”
Ebner was a part of the U.S. national rugby team, and represented the United States in the 2016 Rio Olympics. “Some guys like to go play pickup basketball in the off-season, play in leagues. I go play touch Rugby games that’s just my thing.”
According to a report, O.J. Simpson has 2.7 million dollars waiting for him from his NFL pension once he gets out.
Simpson, who has been in jail since 2008 for robbery, kidnapping, and assault, has a hearing in July. If all goes well, he could be out by October. Even with all that money, Simpson’s life will never be the same. He will forever be hated by many!
After being down 28-3 in the third quarter of Super Bowl 51, the Patriots stormed back and took the game to overtime. At that point, Patriots’ safety Nate Ebner felt New England had the Falcons right where they wanted them. Ebner, in an interview with Go4it host Paul Gant, felt the Patriots were in a good shape once they received the ball first in overtime:
“I mean when we won the toss, with the momentum that we had, I think a lot of us would say there was no doubt we were going to go down and score,” said Ebner. “We were prepared to fight for however long it took. Obviously the offense took care of business, and the way they started moving the ball we just kind of wore them down, and it was just too much for them to handle.”
