Patriots’ Nate Ebner: “We just kind of wore them(Falcons) down”

After being down 28-3 in the third quarter of Super Bowl 51, the Patriots stormed back and took the game to overtime. At that point, Patriots’ safety Nate Ebner felt New England had the Falcons right where they wanted them. Ebner, in an interview with Go4it host Paul Gant, felt the Patriots were in a good shape once they received the ball first in overtime:

“I mean when we won the toss, with the momentum that we had, I think a lot of us would say there was no doubt we were going to go down and score,” said Ebner. “We were prepared to fight for however long it took. Obviously the offense took care of business, and the way they started moving the ball we just kind of wore them down, and it was just too much for them to handle.”

Shaq to Kevin Durant: “Mind yo business”

The beef between Shaquille O’Neal and Javale McGee continues on. Now, Shaq is giving Kevin Durant the business too!  Durant, who came out in defense of McGee, received a couple tweets from “The Diesel.”

Make Vince Great Again?

Former NFL quarterback Vince Young is attempting a comeback. According to his agent Leigh Steinberg, Young has been in talks with the Saskatchewan Roughriders of the CFL, and apparently there is some interest from the new Spring League.  Also, Young has a trademark application out there for the slogan “Make Vince Great Again.”

I’m not sure at 34 Young can be great again, but I am rooting for the guy.  Canada is a good start, and who knows what could happen from there!

No Ben Simmons this year!

The Philadelphia 76ers announced on Friday that rookie Ben Simmons is out for the year. According to the 76ers, Simmons foot is not completely healed.

I guess he is on the Nerlens Noel, Joel Embiid plan (both players did not play as rookies).

I guess the good news for Simmons is he is still eligible to win Rookie of the Year next season.

Do Philly fans still #TrustTheProcess?

Pacquiao-Khan?

According to reports, Manny Pacquiao and Amir Khan are negotiating a possible fight in Dubai.  The fight could possibly take place in April. This is an intriguing fight. Pacquaio was in negotiations to fight Jeff Horn, but who is Jeff Horn?

I would love to see Pacquaio fight Khan or Broner next. We’ll see how this plays out.

Nerlens Noel to Mavericks

The 76ers finally traded a center, but it is not who you thought it would be. 76ers send Nerlens Noel to the Mavericks for Justin Anderson, Andrew Bogut and 2017 1st round pick(which is top 18 protected; can convert to two 2nd rounders).

Analysis: Bogut probably will be bought out. The Mavericks probably won’t make the playoffs, so the 1st rounder will convert to two 2nd round picks. The 76ers get some value for a player that they probably were not going to re-sign(Noel restricted free agent at end of the year), and the Mavericks get a young, shot blocking, athletic big in Noel. Maybe Noel helps the Mavericks make a playoff push.

NBA: Deals that did not get done!

NBA trade deadline has came and went. The best thing about the trade deadline sometimes are the deals that were not done. Here are a few:
