The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have signed quarterback Kyle Trask, the team officially announced Friday.
According to the NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Trask gets a one-year, $2.7 million deal.
Trask, 27, who will likely be Baker Mayfield’s backup again next season, has appeared in seven career games, all for the Buccaneers, completing four passes for 28 yards.
The third-year quarterback, who has never started an NFL game, was a second-round selection (No. 64 overall) by Tampa Bay in the 2021 NFL Draft.
He played collegiately at the University of Florida (2016-20), appearing in 28 career games and completing 552-of-813 passes (67.9%) for 7,386 yards and 69 touchdowns to earn a 168.5 passer rating. Trask won the Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award for the nation’s top offensive player and was named second-team All-SEC in 2020 when he led the FBS with 43 passing touchdowns.
