****Update****: Monday’s Vikings-Rams Wild Card game has been moved from SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, CA to State Farm Stadium, the home of the Arizona Cardinals(8 p.m ET, ESPN/ABC), the NFL announced Thursday. According to the NFL, the decision was made in consultation with public officials, the participating clubs and the NFLPA.
As wildfires continue to ravage Los Angeles, the NFL has a plan for Monday night’s matchup playoff matchup between the Minnesota Vikings and Los Angeles Rams, which is supposed to take place at SoFi Stadium.
According to the league, if playing in Los Angeles is unsafe due to poor air quality or other factors, the game will be played at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, AZ.
The NFL said it will continue to monitor developments in the area closely and will remain in contact with public officials, both clubs and the NFLPA.
It’s clear that the NFL understands the severity of the situation in Los Angeles, and while football is important, the safety and well-being of all involved take precedence.
