Philadelphia 76ers guard Tyrese Maxey has been named Eastern Conference Player of the Week for games played between Dec. 23-29, the NBA announced Monday.
This is the second weekly honor of the 2024 All-Star’s career.
In three games – all wins – against San Antonio, at Boston, and at Utah, Maxey produced 32.3 points (3rd in NBA) on 46.5-percent shooting, 4.7 rebounds, 8.7 assists, and 2.7 steals. No other player averaged such numbers throughout the week.
Maxey scored at least 32 points in each of the three contests, highlighted by a 33-point (12-23 FG), 12-assist, three-steal performance at Boston on Christmas Day. His three consecutive 30-point games match the longest such streak of his NBA career
In 23 games this season, Maxey is averaging 26.0 points, 5.4 assists, and a career-high 2.0 steals. Oklahoma City’s Shai Gilgeous-Alexander was named Western Conference Player of the Week.
