On Sunday morning, a report surfaced that the Jacksonville Jaguars were looking to trade star corner Jalen Ramsey, which the Jaguars denied via a statement a few hours later:

Ramsey would respond, on the field, by intercepting Ben Roethlisberger two times, but the Jaguars would blow a 16-point lead and lose to the Steelers 20-16.
Earlier this week, Ramsey sent out an interesting tweet that had some believing that Ramsey wanted out of Jacksonville, but on Thursday, the third-year corner stated that he wanted to stay with the Jaguars.
After the Sunday’s game, Ramsey responded to the trade rumors:
(On his reaction to the trade rumor):
“I didn’t use it as motivation. It is what it is. I don’t control that. All I control is what I put out there on the field When the offseason comes, we’ll have some conversations to have. It could be whatever. Get a contract extension or something. Something’s going to happen. We’re going to wait until that time comes. I’m trying to live in the moment and thank God every day.”
(On if anybody talked to him about the rumor):
“Coach Marrone came and hollered at me for a second, a quick second. I was really trying to focus on the game, I wasn’t really trying to hear too much of it. It’s cool, showing their support.”
According to ESPN, Ramsey has next season and a fifth-year option remaining on his contract with the Jaguars, who will either have to make him the highest-paid cornerback in the game or make the decision to move on from him.
As we saw on Sunday, Ramsey, 24, is an elite corner, and elite corners are not always available. At 3-7, the Jaguars have a lot of other issues. Ramsey might be the least of their problems moving forward.
