Coming into their second-round playoff series against the Celtics last season, the 76ers were riding high after beating the Heat in five in the first round. Many thought the Sixers would beat the injury-depleted Boston Celtics, but Boston executed better, had more experience, and were able to close out the Sixers in five.

However, Wilson Chandler, 31, who was traded by the Nuggets to 76ers this offseason, thinks Philly should have defeated the Celtics in the playoffs last season:

“This team is great. Great young talent. In my opinion, should have beaten Boston last year; came up a little short,” Chandler said at the team’s media day.

The 10-year veteran believes the Celtics aggressive defense had an impact on the series.

“I think Boston got real aggressive on the defensive end. They got into the guys a lot.” Chanler said.

Coming into this season, Chandler believes the 2018-19 Sixers gives him the best chance to win a title in his career and he believes his physical style of play can help Philly moving forward.

There is a lot of talent in Boston. This season, the Celtics will have their two best players back in Kyrie Irving and Gordon Hayward to go along with Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown, and Al Horford. On paper, the Celtics look stacked and will be a difficult matchup for any team in the Eastern Conference, including the 76ers.
