One of the marquee names in the 2017 NFL Draft had a mixed showing at the NFL Combine today. Leonard Fournette ran the 40 in 4.51 seconds. All the talk about his weight (240 pounds) was silenced after that time. According to NFL research, Fournette time was the fastest by a running back weighing 240 pounds or more. Conversely, Fournette’s vertical jump was 28.5. That jump was better than only two running backs in the last four combines.
Not sure how much it will hurt his draft stock, but it probably won’t hurt too much if he has a better pro day.
